Tixel i Clinical Study

Do You Suffer From Dry Eyes?

Dry eye symptoms can include an uncomfortable dry or gritty sensation, excessive tearing, red or irritated eyes, and trouble with screens or contact lenses. If this sounds familiar, you may be eligible to participate.

A New Approach to Treating Dry Eye

Tixel i is a new dry eye technology that uses heat and pressure in a special way that rejuvenates the meibomian glands. Treatments take only a few minutes and are well tolerated. Most people return to their daily routine right after their appointments.  Many patients become less dependent on daily therapies like eye drops and lid scrubs.

Cannon EyeCare is enrolling patients in a clinical study of Tixel i, a new technology approved by the FDA to treat Dry Eye Disease (DED) caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). If you’ve been dealing with chronic dry eye symptoms, this study is an opportunity to try a new therapy that targets the underlying causes of evaporative dry eye.

All patients enrolled in the study will receive the 3 Tixel i treatments at a significant discount.  The treatments must be initiated by September 25th, 2025, and are spaced 2 weeks apart.  1-month and 3-month follow-ups will be required.  Patients will be asked to do 6 and 12-month follow-ups as well so that we can measure the long-term benefits of Tixel treatment for dry eye.

Wondering If You Are Eligible?
Schedule a Initial Tixel Evaluation appointment at Cannon EyeCare in Pike Place Market for an eligibility evaluation.  This hour-long dry eye evaluation will include imaging of your cornea and meibomian glands.  Insurance billing may apply.  If we are not in network the initial evaluation costs $245.

Patients already under the care of Dr. Mark Cannon for dry eye may be able to skip the screening if they have been seen this year.
